Donald:

I found 2 mentions of Rich Family cemeteries in the western part of NC:

http://files.usgwarchives.net/nc/statewide/cemeteries/nccempz.txt

Feature Name St County Type Latitude Longitude 7.5' x 7.5' Map
------------------- -- -------------- ------ -------- --------- -------
Rich Cemetery NC Buncombe cemete 353553N 0823721W Asheville
Rich Cemetery NC Caldwell cemete 360032N 0814253W Globe

and this:

http://www.epodunk.com/cgi-bin/genInfo.php?locIndex=132757

I noticed 2 obits for people buried in a Rich family cemetery. Services for both were conducted at the Hudson Church of God and Pendry's funeral home was the funeral home. Hudson Church of God has a website (http://www.hudsoncog.com/) with an email for the pastor. Don't know if you'd want to email him and see if he knew where the cemetery was located or had contact information for it. Pendry's funeral home might be another option.
(Ira Coffey burial: http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gsr&GScid=2154717)
(Floyd Philyaw burial: http://coffeycousins.blogspot.com/2008_11_01_archive.html)

There is also a Rich family cemetery in Wake County, NC (http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gsr&GScid=2154717).

Flanative:

There are several Maple Grove cemeteries in NC. You are probably looking for the one in Haywood County.
http://files.usgwarchives.net/nc/haywood/cemeteries/mapgrv01.txt

Or

http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=csr&CScn=Maple+Grove&CScntry=4&CSst=29&CScnty=0

If you click on the # of interments, you can see the names that people have added.

Another option (if you are looking for a certain person), you can go to

http://cemeterycensus.com/nc/

and type in the name in the search box. You do have to put quotation marks around the name. If it is only a last name (e.g. Doe), then enter:

"Doe, *"

The wildcard * will pull all the entries with that last name.

Hope this helps.

I am conducting a family tree/genealogy research and find that a large number of my direct ancestors migrated to, lived, married and died in Caldwell and Watuga County from the very early 1800's and in fact many still reside in Caldwell county and general vicinity.

I am inquiring if you have any documents and/or any photographs on the surname "RICH" and/or how to possibly locate any family history on my ancestors both living and deceased in the area.

I note there is a Rich family Cemetery in the county; however, there are no records I can find on any burials in this cemetery.

Anyone having any history on the "RICH" family, and are there any other organizations or individuals who I might contact for assistance?

I have 1870 census, Barbeque, Harnett showing Neill H. McNeill b. 1820 works turpentine
living with daughters (presumably) Grizzie A. age 16, Jane E. 14, and Lucy D. 7
I have Grizzie's (Griselda) death certificate saying her mother was Nancy Stone.
I cannot find this family of McNeills (with Nancy) in any prior census.
I have found Nancy Stone married in 1857 to Neill H. McNeill in Moore Co. 1850 Census but this Neill H. McNeill seems to have been born in Scotland in 1785.
Grizzie is my great-grandmother and I am stymied. Can anyone help?

In my research of the Minor family history, I've hit a road block in Granville County, NC. late 1700s. I found a listing for John Minor on ancestry.com that shows he is buried in the "minor burying ground", and also that he was listed as being a revolutionary war soldier.

Does anyone know of a listing or map of old burial sites in Granville County? I plan on visiting that area in late 2009 and would like to be able to locate the cemetery.

Looking for information on parents of Jacob Meadows, born abt 1750, who was in Carteret County until about 1800. He moved from there to Georgia. I believe his parents may have been James and Mary Meadows who died in Carteret County.
