Am searching for source proving who parents were for Pettigrew Moore, born before 1744 and died 1802, buried in Moore Cemetery near Moore's Creek.

And - does anyone know exactly who "The Widow Moore" is?

...on Beasley's Creek (old Bay Tree Creek). President Washington spent the night on his 1790's Southern Tour. Robert and Sarah Sage, Sr., ran the Wilmington to New Bern stage line. I suspect Mrs. Sarah Sage was the widow of Col. James Moore who owned ajacent land on Beasley's Creek? I descend daughter Hetty-Bella Sage who wed Wilmington War of 1812 artillery 4th Sgt. Joshua James, Sr. They both died Holmes Co., Miss.
