I am doing a genealogical search on my husband's family. I have gotten as far back as James Swaney- born 3/25/1829, Randolph County, NC. Death 10/1/1914- High Point, Guilford County, NC. He was married to Mary Jane Blizzard. They had approximately 8 children. One of whom was Robert Clarkson Swaney, who was born Dec 15. 1858. Clarkson married Lucretia Ann Seabolt on 4/5/1883. They had approx 6 children, one of whom was Numie Cicero Swaney- who was my husbands grandfather. Numie was born 5/26/1900. Numie married Nancy Elma McDowell, also from Randolph County- it is said she is part Sioux/Catabwa Indian. The family legend speaks of the Swaney family originally from Cherokee, and relocating in Randolph County at some point.
I am also tracing the Seabolts, the Blizzards and McDowells.
If anyone has any information I would appreciate any you can share.
Feel free to email me at, ps91116@hotmail.com or michelle@mountaintopcustomquilts.com

Looking for any information about this person, who was my Great,Great, Great, Great Grandfather. He owned a home in the Hillsbourgh District of Coleridge, Randolph County, North Carolina from about the mid 1850's until?
In 1927, a family named Brown was living there, family story was that they were relatives and that the home had stayed in the family at least until then. No one bothered to write down the address and I don't know how to go about finding it out. If anyone can help with this, I'd be very grateful. I have hit the brick wall with this as I've been hunting up cousins hoping to find someone with some concrete, source proven material, with no luck.
